"Vanning the way it was..."
"Back in the Day"

So you say that vanning just ain't what it used to be. The eVANts just don't measure up any more. Who remembers "Blind Driver", "VanKanna", Tug-o-War, these all seem to be fond and distant memories.

Well we want to bring all of this back. Well maybe not all of it, but as much of it as we can. No we can't get 4000 vans to the nationals anymore(wish we could) but we can do the same things that they did when they had that many.

We plan on taking the message to heart that Honda has brought back to life "Respect the Van". Even more than that we want to add to this message "Respect The Vanner".

Don't worry we aren't excluding the newer vanners, we just want to show you what it used to be like. Maybe you can experience some of the stories you've heard about around the fire on a first hand basis.

One other thing, we aren't having a best dressed or best theme for the vanners, actually if you want to wear a tie-dye shirt, cutoffs and sandals go for it we don't really care what you wear. (Yeah you gotta wear something, remember the kids)
Thanks to Jack and Jeanne from ICANN (Hosts for the 2009 CofC) they will be doing a Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman, Best Dressed Couple and Best Campsite trophies. Pretty much vannin from the '70s based criteria.

So if you have any comments or suggestions please let one of us know, and who knows we might just be able to work it in.

So check the News & Updates page often, as new things come together we will post them there.

Mid America Street Van Association

Mid America Street Van Association was formed with the purpose of hosting The Nats®. The idea was if we get the “Best of the Best” we would be able to host one of the best Van Nationals® in history.

We have assembled a group of dedicated Vanners that together hold an incomparable amount of knowledge and experience. Our family, the membership of MASVA, plan to provide an experience that the Vanning community expects and deserves, and to the best of our ability, it will be a National Truck-In® to enjoy and forever remember.
